About the Reader

J is a 25-year-old reader and writer from the middle of the Bible belt in the US. She has an obsessive love of YA lit because of how much freedom it allows for mixing genres, going beyond genres, exploring diversity, and how the characters and stories are so full of hope, no matter how dark they get. Because she loves YA so much, she tends to be overly harsh on books that are just the same overused tropes repackaged in a shiny new cover. She regrets deciding to write this in third person. When not reading or writing, J is mindlessly scrolling her tumblr dash, playing video games, and cuddling her puppies.
